TekX at Rødovre Day

TekX Live - English slider

On Saturday September 3rd, the City of Rødovre held its annual municipal expo called Rødovre Dag.  The public event was held at the city hall area in Rødovre, Denmark, and featured information booths, exhibitions and activities from several dozen local organizations and businesses.
Among the many particpants, TekX set up shop and opened a 64m² pop-up makerspace that was open to the public. Parents, children and residents of all ages were welcome to try out the many production and creativity focused technologies that we use in our district wide technology and innovation program for public school students.

Vigga and August hosted "TekX Live from Rødovre Day"

One of the exciting features we had on display was our multi camera live video setup. Inside the tent, we had 3 cameras and 3 microphones, all of which feed into a streaming computer that could live mix the video and audio into a single livecast.

Two talented young 9th graders, Vigga and August, volunteered to be hosts for our live video show from inside the TekX tent. They interviewed a variety of guests, including elementary school students, high school students and parents who came to visit the tent setup.  The live video feed was shown on a big screen in the center of the tent, visible to the crowd of guests and passersby at Rødovre Day.

Our tent at Rødovre Day included nearly all the production technologies we use in teaching – vinyl cutters, laser cutters, 3D printers, – as well as our range of coding and robotics equipment, including BeeBots, KUBO, and Fable from ShapeRobotics. We also had a creativity table with plenty of paper and drawing tools, a LEGO table, and a gaming area that featured several games on PC.  Have a look at the pictures below to see some highlights from the day.
